Hello ExBEERiment Family,
I’d like to introduce myself to those of you who don’t know me. I am James Scrogin, the new owner of ExBEERiment Brewing.
I got into brewing nearly 12 years ago after spending time in Germany and Belgium for work. So my brewing is influenced by my time in those countries and their styles of beer. After working hard to craft beers that people would enjoy, I started to get feedback that what I was making in my basement was pretty good. I began to think that maybe this would be what I would do as it came time to retire from my career in the Army. To work towards that goal I completed the American Brewers Guild’s Craft Brewer Apprentice Course which included an internship at a regional craft brewery. I also worked for a few months as a Beertender here at ExBEERiment where I got to know Misty and Greg. When they approached me about potentially purchasing the brewery and taproom, I jumped at the opportunity. They had built the exact family friendly, garage bar type hangout that I envisioned opening on my own. Don’t worry all of your favorite beer recipes were part of the sale, so I’ll still keep those on tap, along with introducing some of the beers that inspired my own brewing journey, as well as small batches where I can be ExBEERimental. To put it simply, I’ve never met a beer recipe that I didn’t want to make and my brewing philosophy is “I make the beer, I drink the beer, and I sell what’s left.”
I look forward to getting to know those of you that I don’t know and reconnecting with those that I do know.
Prost!!!
